NEW! Delaware River Railroad and Mining Experience

Take your family on a historic steam engine ride along the Delaware River to the site of the Susquehanna Mining Company. We'll meet at Thompson Park, where we'll take a Park System minibus to the train station. At the first stop, you and your child will learn the history of the mine and get a bag of mining "rough" to pan for real gemstones, which you get to take home. Afterward, enjoy lunch in their beautiful picnic area and spend the rest of the afternoon playing giant checkers, cornhole, horseshoes, and tetherball. A corn maze can be added on-site for an additional $5. You can also purchase additional bags to pan or geodes you can crack open yourself. Then we take the train back to the bus, but not before one more pit stop at a pumpkin field, where every child will get to pick a free pumpkin to take home! Please pack water, a healthy snack, and a lunch for the whole family.
